I acquired a large straight door catch at the Annapolis Boat Show around 2010, installed it on a live-aboard Shannon 50 Aegean Hardtop companionway. This is an rugged product that performs its intended function and looks good. The catch has functioned well for 15 years with consistent, daily use to retain the door open against individuals falling on it, using it as a hand hold, and three hurricanes and one North Atlantic storm. The failure mechanism after 15 years of abuse was the coil spring on the catch latch parting. Well made product
